Cultures all over the world report people being possessed by evil spirits, and they have rights

that are used to expel these spirits. In a Christian context, the spirits are typically

understood to be demons or fallen

angels, and the most famous right used to expel them is exorcism. For hundreds of years,

the Catholic Church had a variety of exorcism rights, but in 1614, and again in 1998,

the church published official rights for the procedure.

What does the church teach on this topic?

And what are the two official rights of exorcism actually say?
