We'll go ahead and get started, and when we get started here, in just a moment, we'll be picking up at the beginning of Exodus chapter 28 where we left off last time conveniently enough.

So what we read about last time was basically the descriptions of the construction,

well, the description of the plans for the construction

for the tabernacle. I specify that because at a couple chapters we're going to read about the

actual construction of the tabernacle. So the plans for the construction of the tabernacle

based on what Moses saw while he was on the

mountain.

So we're still in the period where Moses is on the mountain for 40 days.

He's there in the heavenly sanctuary with God.

He's speaking to God face to face, as we're going to read in a few chapters.

And he's there in the heavenly sanctuary.

And so the tabernacle is going to be made as a, well, essentially as an icon of that heavenly sanctuary.

Right.

The entire tabernacle itself is sort of an icon of the heavenly sanctuary.

We talked about how, as we went through the different furnishings

and the different pieces of the tabernacle tent itself and all these things,

how they had icons woven into them the way we

would think of icons that the individual parts of the structure also serve this kind of iconic

function connecting them to God and to heavenly realities. And so now, here we pick up in 28, we're still in this same section.
