Well, brothers, last week we covered plagues two through nine.

And as we did, the pressure

rose. The concentric circles of safety began to tighten. We remember at the beginning, plague number

one, there was death in the river Nile, and then there was death in the field, sort of at the end of the

plague of hail. And then plague number nine ended with thick darkness covering

all of Egypt. It was almost, I think Jim said, like, a grave. At the end of Exodus 10, everyone in

Egypt is completely still. But the war between the Lord and Pharaoh has not reached some kind of

detente. It's not stopped. We ended Exodus 10. You might say in the eye of the storm,

but we shouldn't mistake that calmness for safety. Yes, previously their houses had protected them

from the deadly hail, but now the promised judgment that has been encircling them since Exodus

3 will finally enter their house. There is no escape. Calamity is coming.
