In the backcountry, having the right pack can be critically important.

I've had some listeners over the years express, gosh, even like dismay at the cost of a high-end pack but I want to talk

today with a good friend of mine we're going to discuss why a high-end pack can make or

break your backcountry experience. Today I have Mark on the line from XO Mountain

Yeah, likewise Joseph, I'm glad to be here. We've had you on our podcast a couple times,

so a little roll reversal here and thank you for having me.

Yeah you bet. In fact that was the first podcast episode of one of those was

of any kind that I've ever been on when you invited me to join you on your show, the Hunt

Backcountry Podcast several years ago and we talked about out cartridges and related paraphernalia, I remember that was a fun time.

Yeah we did I think that was maybe 2018 we did a podcast series called

Building a Backcountry rifle and Steve my co-host and I were primarily

bow hunters and both of us had grown up shooting and shot rifles and had killed game with

rifles but just weren't super serious

and more of the precision side of the world.

And that was a fun podcast series,

yeah, and we talked to cartridge selection then,

and then I think in 2020,

had your back to talk about Stephen I's first rifle

elkunt which we can probably get into a bit later but yeah it's been tremendously

helpful to be able to learn from you.
