A cowboy named Joe Caswell sits on top of a horse with a noose around his neck,

while the father of the man he's killed watches from a hilltop.

A priest offers Caswell a prayer, but Caswell declines,

and soon after, the horse walks away, leaving Caswell dangling from the noose.

80 years later in New York, a scientist by the name of Professor Mannion activates a time machine.

He doesn't know who or what will arrive in it, but he pulls Joe Caswell through time before the rope snaps his neck.
