Hi, is Caroline here with a bit of a special extra episode on trial UK.

And that's because we wanted to bring you a bit of a preview of one of the

big interviews that we've just published over on trial plus. Now, we published this over the

weekend. It's an interview that Liz and I did with Sandy Bowen. Doctor, Sandy Bowen, actually. She is

a doctor and she was one of the key expert witnesses in the trial of

Lucy Lettby and she hasn't spoken very much, certainly in the last year. She's not spoken very much

at all. And that's primarily because she certainly feels that while as an expert witness, she fully accepts and expects scrutiny.

She got scrutiny during the trial, both trials, in fact, for Lucy Lettby,

and she's accepting of questions and scrutiny since.

But what she says is that scrutiny over the past year

has turned into hate and misinformation and an attempt to tarnish her reputation to such an

extent that it's made her ill and she's now having to move away from the island of Guernsey,

which she has made her home for the past nearly 20 years. But she wanted to sit down for an

extended chat with Liz and I, because she wanted to start addressing some of the misinformation

that's out there. We should also say as well, there is currently an ongoing

investigation into harassment, harassment of Sandy Bowen. And we do touch on that a little bit

in our interview, but she's a bit limited in what she can say, clearly for legal reasons.

But she did sit down and talk at length about the trial, the months and years,

subsequent to the trial, why she took part in the first place, what she thinks about the tone

of the debate now around all of this. And also what she thinks of what Dr. Shul-Lee and his

team of experts has had to say about the evidence.
