Hey everybody, I'm Ashley Banfield and this is Drop Dead Serious. I've got a lot of updates for you.

On the story out of the Bahamas, an American woman is missing. Her husband is being detained

after telling the Royal Bahamian police that she just fell overboard. And then I drifted for nine hours and then called the police.

And there's a whole lot more to it. In my episode yesterday, I was pretty specific about the facts

that we know so far. But today I've learned a lot more about this case. I've had a long conversation

with Lynette Hooker's daughter. Lynette is the woman who's missing.

Lynette and her husband, Brian Hooker, the two of them had set sail in their retirement

and were living on a boat called Soulmate. It's a 55-foot keel boat and they were sailing in

the Bahamas and they were specifically in the northern part of the Bahamas.

You know, Bahamas is islands and islands and islands. And the Abaco Islands are up in the northern

part of the Bahamas. And one particular area is called Elbow Key. And if you look on a map,

you can see it's a six-mile-long barrier island,

and it's located in the Abaco Islands. And that's where they were. The boat was moored.

They had used a tender, one of those little rubberized eight-foot dinghies to go to shore and go

to a restaurant. And as they were coming back in the dingy, Brian told the police that Lynette just bounced out and she had the key and the engine wouldn't work without her and the current took her away and that was that.

I had so many questions about an engine that needs a key when it's an itty-bitty little engine because we've now confirmed that the pictures you're seeing were the actual little dingy in question, the tender,
