Today we're going to continue in our lifestyle series and talk about what it means to exchange

chaos in our lives for order and peace.

We're going to look at both the spiritual and practical side of our lives.

One of the most inspiring stories that I've ever heard

about someone who created beauty and peace and order in her environment is from Betsy Tanboom.

Her story is in the hiding place by Cori Tenboom. Most of you are probably familiar with their story,

but I love this specific example from this book.

She had always had this amazing gift

for creating order and peace and beauty in their home.

They had a family home that had a lot of people living in it and they constantly

had guests coming in and out. They did a lot of ministry in their home and they didn't have much money, but somehow through the years Betsy always managed to add this sparkle of just organization and warmth and

and warmth and loveliness and beauty and peace

to each room in their house.

And so friends and strangers and guests in their home

would always feel the sense of calm and peace whenever they visited.

Later, Corey and Betsy and their entire family were arrested

for helping Jews during the Holocaust

and without going into that story, I just want to skip ahead to a moment

when Betsy and Corey were both in prison and Corey and Betsy were not in the same cell and Corey wondered how Betsy was doing
