There is an argument you could make that this is about big business and their requirements,

but I don't really buy that. I think that if they had wanted to continue with public safety

measures, not only would capital have been able to tolerate that, but it would have been better

in terms of the long-term interest of capital. I mean, if you think about it, it isn't in the interest of

capital to keep, as the government does, living in denial until the very last moment, then being

forced into imposing really radical new restrictions and, you know, having no consistent

narrative arc of what they're supposed to be doing, but rather a series

of surges of discontinuous information.

Consistently, there is no consistency, except that they simply want to revert as quickly as

they feasibly can without, you know, causing a catastrophe

for capital, to return to the basic goal of having everybody self-managing as much as possible,

where the government's role is to manipulate behavior in various ways. And we saw that with obviously

the reliance on Nudge psychology early in the game. So I think that this is really a
