I'm your host, Matt Smith, and my guests today are Sophie Hay, an archaeologist from the

Archaeological Park of Pompeii, and Professor Stephen Ellis, who directs the University

of Cincinnati's excavations at Pompeii.

They were in Australia at the opening of a major exhibition on life in Pompeii, on display

at the Australian National Museum until 4th of May.

Pompeii has been excavated for hundreds of years, and in that time, techniques, practices

and philosophies have changed.
