Excalibur is a 1982, retelling of the authorian legend directed by John Borman.

It stars Nigel Terry, Helen Mirren, Nicholas Clay, as well as some minor stars who you might recognize such as

Liam Neeson and Patrick Stewart. Obviously 30, 40 years younger, still super bald, still recognizably Captain Picard.

It also, as a Game of Thrones connection, stars Sirin Hines, I hope I pronounce this guy manse raider if you don't if you don't if you don't

recognize him for the name alone who has a very minor role is a guy named Lott who I think you might blink and miss it.

If you've gone past the scene where Arthur's holding a sword of some dude's throat in a river,

you've already gone too far.

But he's in there too. Lots and lots of, oh yeah that guy from

British filmmaking and Irish filmmaking, the Scottish filmmaking are kind of got their

starts in this movie.

Jim, what did you think of Excalibur?

I think Excalibur is of its time, very much so. It came off to me as feeling pretty dated. The film feels

dated. It looks muddy. This HD conversion that we got, it didn't seem like they remastered it at all.

They simply upscaled it and shit it out. The editing you can tell was done before the age of computer editing where they were just slicing up film and it shows in some clunky edits

ultimately I think the story hangs together pretty well,

although I found myself at times confused,

especially when dealing with Merlin

and some of the scenes he had with Morgana,

Morgana, I don't know I say that.

But overall I think I enjoyed it.

Some of the stuff that does hold together are the battle scenes.

I think that there's a lot of pretty good action if you could ignore like you know some obvious squibs and weird
