I believe it was around 11 years ago that my family went on a little vacation with some friends

in a cool spot near San Diego, California.

And it just so happened that the other dad joining us on this trip was a home brewer and craft beer lover,

so we both brought along some beers to share with each other.

Now, those who were drinking craft beer at that time might recall the massive interest people started to have in lower ABV hoppy beers.

And within a relatively small window of time, most notable commercial breweries began producing their own versions of this unique style.

Well, it was during this vacation that I tried my first so-called session IPA, which my friend Ryan brought with him.

And really, it was an eye-opening experience for me.

And this week I'll be joined by the inventor of that very beer special guest, Jeremy Kismickey, who is the head brewmaster at Founders Brewing to discuss his experience creating the highly regarded all-day IPA, a beer I love to this day. Now, I know that we're not really an interview-based podcast, but given my appreciation of Founders Brewery in general, as well as my love of All Day IPA, I just couldn't pass up this opportunity to have a conversation with the dude who invented it. And I thought our listeners might get a kick out of it as well. So we're going to be going over Jeremy's history and brewing, his career with founders, and of course, the process that ultimately led to the creation of the delicious all-day IPA.
