As the Winter Meetings continue to roll on from Dallas, Texas, and we are certainly seeing

big name starting pitchers coming off of the board.

And it's certainly making you realize that as a Met fan, we're going to be standing here and watching for a long time.

Because when I saw that Max Freed got eight years. Eight years?

Forget the money for a second.

You guess $27.5 million I think is more than reasonable for a guy like Max Fried.

But when you see that Max Fried gets eight years, didn't we all think, well, boy,

David Stearns is laughing at this one.

There's no way David Stearns is going anywhere near this one.

And so as we see a starting pitcher like Freed come off the market.

We'll spend more time on him.

Nate Avaldi come off the market.

I think we look around as Met fans and say, what about us?

Because clearly this rotation still has

holes to fill. And we'll spend some time talking about that on today's Rico Brunia. David

Stearns has met the media, multiple days of the winter meetings. We look forward to this at the

end of this week. Actually, starting tomorrow, we'll start doing this. We're going to listen to

everything David Stern said at the winter meetings,

what he said Monday, what he said Tuesday, what he's going to say Wednesday, and then we will

respond to everything because he said a lot, a lot of interesting stuff for us to chew on,
