author of some of the most I guess impactful important at least to me

All right, we got the Olympics coming up and I wanted to talk to you about a bunch of different things including for those who don't know he wrote Range and the range to both books that talk about developing

athletes and the biggest the big thesis I guess are the range to make sense for everyone is that

generalization is better than

specialization especially early on and I was wondering how that plays into the

Olympic Games and what we can see coming up this summer.

Yeah, one of the things I think you'll see is most of the athletes there will have some diversity in their background, which I think is kind of unexpected given the emphasis on specialization in this day and age but but that's the truth and

you'll see some of the countries that have more diversification in sort of their

pipelines will punch above their weight.
