0:31.5	true and all that good stuff, there's a lot of stuff I could have pulled there for the

0:36.4	I was thinking for my young audience watching this, like basically being part of all of those
0:41.0	things kind of seems like the coolest thing possible.
0:44.7	So how does somebody get into all of that?
0:48.2	Yeah, I mean, I was lucky to graduate Stanford in 1994, which was the year before the internet
0:54.9	really kind of took off.
0:56.9	And I was lucky enough to meet Peter Teo when I was there.
1:00.8	And we collaborated together on, we both worked on the student newspaper, the sort of conservative
1:06.5	libertarian student newspaper that Peter founded, and then we ended writing a book together.
1:10.4	And he recruited me years later to join PayPal.
1:14.1	And I actually thought I had missed the whole internet thing, and then I got a call from
1:18.6	Peter in 1999.
1:21.3	And he told me about this company he was creating, and that company went on to become PayPal,
1:27.1	and he recruited me to be the COO.
