convicted for the raid that killed Brianna Taylor has now been sentenced. Her family was demanding

a long prison sentence, but the new

prosecutors under the Trump administration recommended just one day in jail. In the end, the judge said

that would not be appropriate, and she sentenced ex-officer Brett Hankison to nearly three years.

You probably remember the case out of Louisville, Kentucky. It sparked passionate protests around

and police brutality. Hankison was still a police officer at the time, but was not in uniform the

night of the raid. He blindly fired 10 bullets into Brianna Taylor's apartment, and Taylor was shot

and killed. Outside the courthouse yesterday, protests erupted again, much like the ones that broke out

in the immediate aftermath of her death.

Police ended up arresting four people who they said were creating confrontation and blocking traffic.

Next, in this case, three other ex-officers are charged with creating a falsified drug warrant as justification for the raid, but so far none have gone to trial.
