0:24.7	And today I wanted to just spend some time on a good old rebuttal to folks who continue to badmouth those who are deconstructing and those who are ex-evangelicals.
0:37.1	And so it just seems like a lot of
0:40.0	Christian leaders and figures and luminaries and celebrities just can't stop. They just,
0:45.5	they feel this need to, uh, to talk about us ex-evangelicals. So I haven't done one of these in a while.
0:51.0	Wanted to to do this. I had a, uh I had a somebody reach out to Michael Taylor who listens
0:56.5	to the show and say, hey, can you, can you listen to this and watch this and do that? So basically,
1:02.0	I want to respond to some, an interview with John Cooper, who's the lead singer of Skillet. Some of
1:10.3	you will know who that is. Here he is
1:12.2	right here. Skillet is a pretty famous Christian evangelical band. Some of you out there will have
1:20.3	memories of listening to their albums. He was on a radio show, a YouTube show called the Remnant
1:27.4	Radio. And on there, he talked about ex-evangelicals and
1:31.2	why, you know, they're the worst thing ever. And this all started with a Facebook post that he made
1:38.3	back in 2019, and that Facebook post made a lot of rounds. And I just think some of the points
1:43.5	in the post are worth talking about. And then what he said just like a month and a half ago is worth talking about.
1:50.2	So in the post, titled, what in God's name is happening in Christianity, John Cooper says a lot of
1:59.5	things, but he first says uh okay i'm saying it because it's too
2:05.5	important not to what is happening in christianity more and more of our outspoken leaders or
2:11.2	influencers who are once faces of the faith are falling away and at the the same time, they're being very vocal and bold about it.
2:19.3	Shockingly, they still want to influence others as they announce that they are leaving the faith.
