Yvonne Goulogong's mother knew how to scare her and her seven brothers and sisters.

like police officers and other official looking types.

It also made her stick close to her family.

They were the only indigenous people they knew of in Burrellan,

their tiny hometown.

But on weekends, they packed up the car to visit the rest of their mob in communities bound by the three great rivers
