Hey news our viewing listeners today we have an interesting guest on the show we're going to talk about trauma and evolution and science and so I just thought we'd just get to the interview but first let me introduce the podcast this is called psychology in Seattle and I'm your host Dr. Kirk Honda

Hi I'm Mike McCarg I'm an author and a podcaster specializing in the intersection of science, education, and emotional awareness, because I think those two things are more powerful when combined than used separately.

It's about the gap between what we want to think and do and feel and say

knows what I'm talking about if you don't a really easy example is I'm a person who

has had some cardiac health issues and so maintaining a

healthy diet is really important to me and I understand that and I absolutely

love to eat cookies by the handful.

And these two things seem at odds with each other.

And that tension is what the whole book is about,
