The I'm Viti Politan, the subject of my investigation, the tragic murders of Keith, Jennifer, Sophia, and Jesse Canero, a wonderful family from New Jersey. The accused is Paul Canero,

Keith's brother, who prosecutors say was stealing money, Alec Burdock style. Here's the story.

The case against Paul Canero unfolds like a nightmare born inside a family feud.

Prosecutors allege that in April of 2018, Paul drove to his brother Keith's house where he murdered Keith, then killed his wife, then stabbed his children before he set the house on fire.

Investigators say the crimes were deliberate, methodical, and fueled by resentment

and a conflict between the brothers concerning money. Authorities allege Paul used firearms

accelerants and careful timing to carry out the attacks, then attempted to destroy evidence

by igniting the home. The fire initially masked the murders,

but the autopsies revealed much more.

Paul was arrested within days

and prosecutors laid out a chilling narrative

of jealousy, rage, and betrayal,

one that transformed a family dispute

into one of New Jersey's most horrifying crimes.
