sitting here with the other host Casey clap Alex Croson happy new year we made it we made

it to the new year yeah we did we did everybody's still alive and kicking and talking about

trees yeah pretty much right and this is an exciting news our first episode of the new year

which I had to admit to you last I guess it wasn't even last week it was yesterday last year on

our patreon episode yes that I prefer to see the new year as actually the solstice right it feels

like a good actual break you know so the more I think about it the more new year is is kind of

arbitrary it's it's the arbitrary like why didn't we line the months up it's just a little bit off

yeah why why is it just a little bit off yeah why can't we why can't we have like just just make

that you know like daylight savings time it's just an arbitrary thing there's a whole radio lab

about the entire idea of time yeah have you did you ever listen to that no oh my god Alex you got

to listen to it of course it's all about how trains are what made standardized time around the

entire world a thing oh wow because the every little city would just be like yeah it's noon

when the suns at the top done they would end it there but then if you were on a train going from

Chicago to Denver then the train would need to know what time its schedule gets to each spot right

and so it couldn't just say yeah about noon on this day because that would be maybe an hour later

an hour before see that doesn't seem that interesting to me okay that's fair but you know the

whole point here is that so rude Alex it's very rude but you know what I get this a lot actually you

be surprised how many people Alex are uninterested what we have to say about trees Casey I I invented

people not being interested in what I have to say please fair so my point being if we would just

arbitrarily I don't know do we have to have a bill in congress to just move the move new years
