I'm Wes Goldberg here with Matt Moore and Hayes. It's finally here.

Game one of the NBA Finals is tonight.

We're going to be spending today's show telling you everything you need to know to watch.

We're going to be doing a deeper dive into some of the more tactical stuff here in a second.

But let's start today's show with the casual fans viewing guide to game one of the NBA finals.

And we should start with the star players.

Matt, what should casual fans be watching when it comes to Victor Wenbighama and

or Jalen Brunson?

So I think the starting place is kind of where Victor is going to be, where Victor is defending.

Everyone's assuming that he's going to be defending Josh Hart. I think it's a reasonable assumption. If he does that, he's going to help off of him. So then the question is, can Josh Hart hit threes in order to punish that and force Victor Wehman Yamma out? So as you're kind of watching, look at where Victor's setting up. How deep is he in the paint? Is he coming out higher? if they involve him in picking roles, is he stepping up higher? Those kind of things that they think defensively are the big question. Then offensively, I think it's the same kind of question is like, who's, who's, who's going to put on him? They can put cat. They got it going to be Josh Hart. Uh, those all present different matchup problems for Victor, depending on what the Knicks want to try and take away. And that's like the, I did the first place you got to start when you're trying to watch and figure out how that game is going to go. Yeah, Wimby's going to be, I think it's going to, A, he's going to guard car. I think he towns a lot, but I do think they're going to initially use him around the rim to deter anything from around the room, force the New York Knicks to shoot. But if they stay hot from shooting like they have been, then you may have to use one, be a little bit of a different way. So I do think he's going to, he's going to come up on screens a lot more than maybe what he did against the OKC Thunder. And that's the versatility of it. And it's going to come down to how well the spurs rotate. Yeah, like just watching the geometry of the court and specifically just like where Wemby is on any given possession defensively, like he'll, he's going to play by the rim. He's going to try to take away the rim. But then if the Knicks start shooting threes early, does he start to kind of gravitate out there closer to the perimeter? I do think that's a really interesting place, I think, for people to just to start watching these finals. And the other part, I think, is Jalen Brunson. Hey, it's like, we know that Jalen Brunson is one of the best scores in the league. I think what's interesting about the way that he's going to try to attack San Antonio is like where, what's the spot that he's going to go at, right? Like who is he going to try to match up hunt? Is he even going to try to match up hunt, I guess, maybe is a is the better question haze i think the they need to try to match up hunt. Is he even going to try to match up hunt, I guess, maybe is the better question, Hayes? I think they need to try to keep him for matchup hunting because it is going to be a lot of stuff on Castle on him a lot. And like I talked about yesterday's episode, the physicality that Castle deals with him initially is going to be a big determining factor early in the series and see how you just. But Jaylin's going to look for his spots. And I think the Spurs have enough perimeter defense to kind of keep him from getting comfortable. You can't stop him from getting to his spots. He's too good for that. But you just have to make him uncomfortable in getting to those spots. I think people saw the Cavs series and kind of like, oh, so he went hard in Mitchell. so like who's he he going to go at? And it's a little bit different when the team is switching.

And I don't know.

Spurs might switch a ton.

They might not, right?
