Welcome everybody to Soccer 101. My name is Taylor Rockwell. I am joined as ever by Mr. Graham Ruffman and Graham.

I am very excited this week because we get to delve into yet another nation that is qualified for the World Cup,

yet another nation's domestic league.

We're heading to Argentina, Graham.

We are indeed the country that I think the soccer nation I have the most respect and envy for, because Argentina, they took

the historic blueprint of Scottish football.

In fact, it was a gentleman from Glasgow who Alexander Watson Hutton, who took the game

of soccer to Argentina.

And then they made it a lot better than us.

They perfected it. And they're world champions with the Scottish model. So Messi shouldn't have been ours. An equally confusing domestic

soccer picture though. I feel like if we're drawing parallels to Scotland, because yes, you're

totally right, Argentina, one of the nations you think of first when you think of best footballing nations on the planet,

when it comes to league stability and general connectiveness from one season to the next,

I'm a little bit more uncertain about that one.

Yes, I'll make a distinction there.

I do not envy their league structure in its current format at all.

It's a little bit wild, but we'll get into that. I learned in my research that one of the modos that's been adopted or an unofficial motto for the Argentine League is, don't try to understand it, just enjoy it. And maybe that's a good... That's like the Nations League. Exactly. Just let it roll and enjoy the soccer's such as it is. Graham, why, to restate,
