I'm Ellie Cawthorne. For today's episode, we've got the next in our Everything You Wanted to

know series. This time we're discussing the Georgians with Dr Kate Smith. Kate is a senior lecturer

in the 18th century history of Britain and its empire at the University of Birmingham.

when was the Georgian period? When did it run to and from?

Yeah. So the Georgian period is conventionally seen as running from 1714 to 1837. And there's a slight kind of discrepancy at the end of the period because people often sort of attack William the fourth on to the Georgian kings.
