Summary

Today's episode is a great keynote/fireside chat I had in the great city of Atlanta last month. I talk a lot about kindness in life and in business and how true kindness comes in the face of adversity. If you can be kind to someone who has done you wrong, then you are doing it right. I also discuss accountability, pinning the blame on others and much more that I know you'll get a ton of value from.

Enjoy! Let me know what you thought.

I'm really looking forward to the fireside chat because I really wanted to be

0:08.9

contextual to the industry. Obviously, given that my sisters didn't, I've always

0:13.8

paid a lot of attention to it because I always feel that there's so much

0:16.6

ambition and entrepreneurial tendencies in the real estate industry. But I also

0:22.1

have always been fascinated by it because it's similar to the reason I like the

0:26.8

NFT market and why I always loved collectibles because I'm fascinated by the

0:31.1

concept of markets going up and down. Especially if you break down my content, I

0:37.2

think so much of it speaks to being practical and being self-aware and

0:41.8

staying in your lane. And people really get caught in this industry by being

0:47.3

overexcited when times are good and not anticipating when times are bad. And so

0:52.7

it's been really interesting to watch over the last 30 years the way to win how

0:57.0

easy it is to lose and that so many variables in it. The thing that I probably

1:01.2

want to talk most about is what I've been spending a lot of my time on lately,

1:05.8

which is what does it take from an emotional intelligence standpoint to

1:10.8

actually be successful? I think the concept of soft skills has been really

1:16.6

fascinating to me. That when we talk about empathy or kindness or patience, we

1:23.7

consider them soft skills. And I truly believe that they're the actual hard

1:29.6

skills of business. That knowing how to write up a contract or use Excel or

1:36.3

like run the math is actually quite easy. What I think is very hard is when

1:42.7

another human being is incredibly disrespectful to your face and having the

1:47.3

intestinal fortitude to be the bigger person in that moment for what you're
