Coming up on this episode of the roundtable.

We have some friends that might suggest,

well, the minute a plane actually crashes

with major casualties and it's demonstrably linked to DEI or

what have you, then you'll see people roll this back right quick and this is

akin to the go woke go broke idea that eventually the hard pavement of the real road of the real world rather makes contact with the soft squishy underbelly of DEI and suddenly we realize oh actually this stuff is not just kind of annoying or stupid or badly argued it also doesn't work and things fall apart the center cannot hold so on and so forth.

But what most unsettles me about these plain stories is they suggest another avenue where there is no wake-up call because things

just get kind of steadily worse in this extremely unpleasant and eerie and scary way,

but not so much worse that we roll things back

Alaska Airlines flight 1282 made an emergency landing recently after a section of the aircraft ripped off in midair,

leaving a hole in the plane. I am reading from the Wall Street Journal.
