Well, aren't we here this weekend in interesting times?

My, my, my.

What a time to be alive.

I'm going to read from 1st Kings chapter 18.

Try to not keep you too long.

I know for some of you, this has probably been a busy, a long week.

Things never stop here in these conferences, do they?

But I'm going to read a few verses from the chapter regarding Elijah and his encounter with the prophets of bail.

And the important thing to know is that this passage, and obviously we can't read the entire chapter,

maybe you should do that later on your own, but this is all about the turning of a nation, this passage.

It's about the rescue of a nation.

It's about the deliverance of a nation, not just from oppressors, but from idols and idolatry.

Jezebel is in full power at this point, Ahab and Jezebel.

She has hundreds and hundreds of prophets throughout the land, sowing the

curses and the demonic worship idolatry. Things are not good.

Of course, God's going to use Elijah to turn things, but I want you to remember the context

of this is that it's in the turning of a nation.

Let me just read a few verses.
