Summary

Today I’m going to share why eating in moderation is bad diet advice.

This idea involves avoiding extremes and consuming a balanced diet with reasonable amounts of various foods.

However, some of the foods you are allowed to consume, even in moderation, can destroy your health.

Why eating everything in moderation doesn’t work for weight loss or creating a healthy body:

1. The carbs aren’t low enough (moderation is subjective)

2. Many people have insulin resistance

3. It doesn’t consider genetics

4. It includes addictive foods

5. It includes refined foods

6. Eating stimulates insulin

The best way to burn fat and create a healthy body is to consume 50 grams or less of carbs per day. Doing this will also eliminate hunger and cravings, making it easier to stay on track with a diet plan.

The Healthy Keto® diet is a low-carb diet plan that focuses on nutritious, quality ingredients and getting healthy to lose weight. Learn more about the ketogenic diet in my other videos.

So today we're going to talk about some really, really stupid advice. It's eating everything in moderation.

0:05.3

I'm not sure who came up with it. But the definition of moderation is you're avoiding extremes.

0:11.7

You're consuming a reasonable amount of something, something that's kind of rational, something that's more balanced.

0:17.8

And of course, a lot of people will say that keto is unbalanced. It's too extreme to lower

0:23.9

these carbohydrates. And of course, there is no bad food group. It's about just eating everything in

0:30.3

moderation. So let's go through the reasons why this is a really stupid idea. The first thing is that

0:36.1

low carbs really are not low carb unless you compare them to

0:40.9

whatever one else is doing. The average person consumes at least 65% of their calories being carbs.

0:47.7

And of course, if you compare the keto to that, which is 5% of your calories being carbs,

0:53.3

yeah, that would be extreme.

0:54.3

That would be considered a low carb.

0:56.5

But even when we talk about moderation, it's so subjective.

1:00.7

Is it 50% or is it 70%?

1:04.3

Is it 80%?

1:05.5

What is a moderate amount of carbohydrate?

1:10.2

If we compare normal blood sugar, okay, this is a good reference,

1:15.1

what is normal blood sugar? Well, I would say about 80 milligrams per decilator. That would be

1:19.9

considered normal, right? Now, there's a little range, a little higher, a little lower, but I would

1:24.1

say 80 would be a good average. Now, how much sugar does that mean in your blood?

1:29.5

All of your blood? Well, if you take 80 milligrams per decilator, that really only comes out to

1:34.9

one teaspoon of sugar. One teaspoon of sugar, that is only 4.2 grams of carbohydrate. Okay,

1:43.4

that's pretty darn low because in keto, we're allowed up to
