| 0:25.7 | I made a post about all the businesses that I've started over the last 12 years. There was 19 of |
| 0:31.9 | them that I could remember off the top of my head. And over half of those have made over seven figures |
| 0:37.3 | in revenue. Now, the majority of them were very successful, and I either still have them today or I sold the business. A few of them were not successful. They lost me money. They got me in lawsuits. They hurt my reputation. And throughout all the highs and lows, I can share with you some things that have become very clear to me throughout it. First, let's discuss why do people tell you to focus on one thing? Well, when you're first starting out in business and you haven't built a six-figure company or even a seven-figure company, then my advice is you should focus on one thing. Too many times you've got entrepreneurs who are like, yeah, you know, I'm making $10,000 over here, making $30,000 over here, I'm making $50,000 over here, and you know, that's how I make $100,000 a year. And basically what they're saying is they're not very good at anything. And you'll never make a lot of money unless you're truly excellent at at least one skill set. And so when you're first starting out, you really do need to hone in on whatever that |
| 1:27.7 | skill's going to be. Maybe it's becoming great at sales and being a salesperson for somebody else. |
| 1:32.6 | Maybe it's getting really good at creating content. Maybe it's getting really good at finding |
| 1:36.4 | real estate deals. Whatever that one skill is, you got to learn to dominate it. And honestly, |
| 1:41.2 | I don't think you should worry about anything else until you do at least half a million dollars in that one thing |
| 1:47.4 | Realistically, it should probably be seven figures, but at a bare minimum |
| 1:51.6 | Find one thing that can at least generate over half a million dollars in revenue now where people start to get different opinions is what happens after that |
| 2:00.0 | When you listen to a lot of |
| 2:01.1 | these different people on YouTube, they'll tell you that you should take your six or seven figure |
| 2:05.0 | business all the way through to eight figures. You should go really deep in one thing and just |
| 2:09.8 | build that thing out and absolutely crush it. And personally having done that, I've realized that it |
| 2:14.9 | is good advice for some people. I think there are some |
| 2:18.1 | entrepreneurs who are totally content staying in one business, one industry, and doing that for |
