All people always told me you're going to be something, you're going to be somebody,

and that's the kind of mentality that I had growing up.

Fast life that I wanted to live, you know, the promiscuity,

and wanted to go partying and drinking.

I have four memories with alcohol that were good.

I was raised in Liberia, and a part of just West African culture is this idea of,

if you're not a doctor or if you're not a lawyer, then essentially like maybe you're not as successful.

I always felt like I needed to be at least one of those things

to make my parents proud.

So when I got into college, I started off as pre-med,

I was like, well, this is not really what I want to do.

And I switched to art.

It was my first year in college.

I had never drank in my life.

So that's how I got my first taste of alcohol.

It made me a lot more confident.

I felt like I could go up and talk to any girl.

It wasn't maybe two years in 2008 is when I picked up my first non-DUI.

I graduated college and then I'm driving in Louisville one day and I see this billboard up there
