The race is on, and the first Formula One pre-season test in Barcelona is in history books,

and Mercedes ended up on top ahead of Red Bull. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? But what does it mean,

and who were the winners and losers of the opening chapter of F1 2022?

I'm Ed Strawerin joining me for a comprehensive look back at those three days of running of Scott

Mitchell and Gary Anderson.

As ever, the three days of running have gone in a flash.

As I mentioned, Mercedes-on-top, Lewis Hamilton fastest today, a one minute 19.138 seconds. We'll get to the other

times as we run through all the teams. But first I've got to say, hello, Scott, the first of our

testing podcast this year you've been on because you've been busy scurrying around the paddock.

I asked Mark and Gary in the past for their thumbs up or thumbs down for F12022, the new cars.

What do you make of it? Oh, yeah, really cool.

I really like how, I really like how different the 10 cars are in major areas of the aesthetics.

I didn't really get to see a proper look this week at them trackside as much as I think the three of you did over the three days.

But I did get to see them. I've seen them in person. I really like the look of them.

Something about them that just looks a little bit racier. Maybe it's just the fact that they sit so much lower. I also think we've, and I know this is probably the least important part of launches and testing. I actually also think we've got a really pretty looking grid, quite a cool set of livery.

And I'm pleased to say that after three days of preseason testing, the preseason test lived up to expectations in the end.

It was a little bit slow the first day or two, but started to

kick up a gear, and I think we ended on a bit of a high, so plenty to get into. Yeah, there was
