Foreign Affairs reporter Cassia Akiba has the details. Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeatedly

clashed with Senate Democrats during a Foreign Relations Committee hearing Tuesday as lawmakers pressed

him on Iran. Here's one heated exchange between Rubio and Senator Cory Booker.

We have made our adversary in a stronger negotiating position. And now we're begging to get back

into a deal that you all trashed in the first place. There's no one begging for anything here.

The Iranians might be begging because their economy is losing hundreds and millions of dollars a day.

I don't know where you're getting this perception that Iran is stronger. Iran has no Navy left.

They've lost a substantial percentage of their defense industrial base. And their economy is far

worse today. And I mean far worse today than it was six to nine months ago.

The hearing turned especially combative when Senator Jackie Rosen accused Rubio of attending a party

with President Trump instead of participating in Iran negotiations in Pakistan with Vice President

J.D. Vance. Take a listen. What party was I at? I was at a party? It's publicly reported and there's photos there.

But what party? No, no, no, no. But you're going to say that. I'm going to answer it.

And it's not real. Rubio said he was alongside President Trump throughout the negotiations while remaining in

constant contact with administration officials handling the talks.
