President Trump freezes the new housing bill until the SAVE Act passes,

and this is Evening Wire. President Trump canceled a signing ceremony this morning for a bipartisan housing bill.

Trump posted on True Social this morning that he had decided to cancel the ceremony, quote,

until such a time as we passed that desperately needed Save America Act, which I consider to be a national emergency.

The president posted the message about an hour before he was expected on Capitol Hill to meet with congressional leaders and sign

the housing bill. The Save America Act aims to strengthen election security and cut down on

opportunities for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. The act passed the House in February

with broad Republican support, but is stalled in the Senate on

resistance from Democrats. Israel appears to be furious over being left out of U.S. Iran peace talks,

and the Senate votes to block a continuation of the war. Daily Wire Foreign Affairs reporter
