After a weekend of destructive anti-ice protests in L.A. County, President Trump sent in the National Guard

and warned that hundreds of Marines stand ready to assist if needed. Daily Wire reporter Tim Pierce has

the latest. Federal officials are calling out state leaders. This morning, DHS urged California

Governor Gavin Newsom to call off their rioting

mob, accusing him of siding with foreign criminals. The statement follows numerous confrontations

between anti-ice protesters and law enforcement centered in the city of Paramount.

Newsom, for his part, is pushing back against the criticism, going so far as the dare

Bordersar Tom Holman to arrest him. He's a tough guy. Why doesn't he do that? He knows where to find me. So Tom arrest me.

Let's go. Newsom claims Trump overstepped by deploying the National Guard during anti-ice riots.

The governor says local law enforcement didn't need help. Newsom accused Trump of manufacturing chaos and

vowed he won't stop standing up for California.

The governor is now in Los Angeles overseeing the response and urging calm.

Holman clarified that there is no active discussion about arresting the governor.

I said, well, no one's about the law.

If they cross the line, committed a crime, absolutely they can.

So there was no discussion about resting in Newsom.

And so, you know, what he's done, he's failed that state. He waited two days of that city burning and people getting hurt. Officers being assaulted before he made any declaration of an awful, unlawful assembly.

Today, the LAPD is cleaning up at their headquarters after protesters targeted

the building last night. The PD deployed tear gas downtown as demonstrators through objects

and lit fires near the West First Street building. Police also declared an unlawful assembly,

warning that agitators had splintered across the city. The chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, Jim McDonald, says rioters were taking
