Catastrophic flash flooding tore through Texas Hill Country overnight, killing at least one person.

Daily Wire reporter Lyndon Blake has the latest.

Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that one person has died in the flooding near center point after the Guadalupe River surge to a near historic 37 feet, rising roughly 32 feet in just four hours.

Rescue crews pulled 10 people off a barn roof and watched at least two bridges wash away while the flooding spread across a dozen counties, from Yuvaldi to Bandera to Kendall, Gillespie, and Mason.

The flooding forced road closures, evacuations, and shelter openings, including one in Kendall County, housing nearly 70 residents and their pets.

In comfort, floodwaters turned an alarming bright red after a ruptured drum of agricultural

dye spilled into the river. But officials confirmed that die was harmless.

Officials are urging anyone near rivers to move to higher ground immediately, with another surge

expected this afternoon, though it's not expected to be as severe as this morning's peak.

Artificial intelligence companies are ramping up security as executives face a growing wave of threats

tied to public backlash. Amid the heightened threats, a man recently slipped into AI's startup

Anthropics San Francisco headquarters to warn that a top executive was going to be killed.

That came just days after authorities say a Texas man through a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home.

Investigators say the suspect was later charged with attempted murder and attempted arson,

and officers recovered a manifesto calling for the killing of tech CEOs and investors.

Police have also investigated additional threats against anthropic employees, including violent online posts and gun threats over refund disputes.

The incidents come as public concern over AI's impact on jobs, privacy, and energy use grows,

prompting major tech firms to boost executive protection and increased spending on security.
