Then there was a famine in the days of David.

Three years, year after year, and David inquire of the Lord, and the Lord answered, it is for Saul and for his

9, but for the sake of time, I would try to unpack this verse and connect it to Joshua 9 to give

you a clear understanding of what is going on here.

Israel at this time is being led by David. David had been on the throne at this time for nearly

30 years. God sends a famine in Israel for something that Saul had done. Now keep in mind, Saul at this time,

was dead for 30 years and David was on the throne for 30 years and God sends a famine. In year one, David said to himself, you know, this is strange.

The ground is not producing any fruit, any crops, and the cattle is dying. The earth has become

brass and the heaven is providing no rain. two the same thing progress and by year three

david finds himself going to jerusalem to ask god what is going gone is even anyone ever
