Nicholas Maduro, fresh from being apprehended by U.S. forces in an overnight raid in Venezuela, comes to court.

That's one point Maduro said, you know, I'm innocent.

I was captured, innocent, and he kept trying to tell the judge he was innocent.

And the judge finally kind of cut him off and say, okay, there's going to be a lot of time for

that later to forgive you to plead your case, but right now we're just starting with the

guilty, not guilty, what is your plea kind of

situation.

This is the Fox News Rundown evening edition.

The weekend headline of the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicholas Maduro continues to be the

buzz, especially in New York City, to where both the ousted strongman and his wife were not only transported and jailed, but also where they were made to appear in a United States courtroom to give their responses to charges against them for alleged drug running in narco-terrorism.

It's not the first time we've seen a Latin American despotic leader be charged

in U.S. federal court. The late Manuel Noriega of Panama comes to mind, but Maduro and Mrs. Maduro

are the prized prisoners of President Donald Trump, who is using American economic, diplomatic,

and even military power to set a new international tone in the Western Hemisphere,

one that reasserts the Monroe Doctrine. And while there's been much cheering in the Venezuelan

enclaves of Miami, the folks of New York have been vocally against the action coming out and

protest outside the courthouse as Maduro faced arraignment. Maduro and his wife pleaded not guilty, and yes, it was a bit of a circus.
