This war in Ukraine rages on, but at least there's talk of a potential end of the war.

The U.S. proposal on the table is being modified, but Russia has been slowly

and methodically gaining ground recently, putting Ukraine in a precarious position.

We are losing positions, that's clear. We are losing lands. We are losing territories. But we are not

at the point when we would say we lost the war or we are losing the war because it can actually continue

like this for years to come.

This is the Fox News Rundown, evening edition.

At the White House today was President Trump holding another cabinet meeting, which included,

of course, Secretary of State Margaret Rubio, praising the president's efforts to broker peace in this war between Russia and Ukraine. That's not our war. It's not the President's war. This war started. It never would have happened if you've been president. But this war is going on, and the President is trying to end it. Not because, listen, we've got a million things to focus on in the world as a country, but he's the only leader in the world that can help end it.

U.S. Special Envoy, Steve Whitkoff, with the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. They're in Russia, a meeting with Russian President Putin to discuss this proposal. The initial White House plan was heavily criticized for favoring Russian demands while offering few security guarantees for Ukraine. Well, I assume the U.S. delegation brought to Moscow a document that had been discussed

between Ukrainians and Americans just a couple of days ago.

We're speaking today with former Minister of Foreign Affairs for Ukraine, Dmitro Kalaba.

And they want to test waters with President Putin whether he is willing to make any concessions

to make that draft more feasible. And then I think they will just bring the message back

to Washington and brief President Trump, who will then have to decide how to take it further.

So I don't expect any agreements at this point. This is not the game

Russia is playing. They're not in a rush to make a deal. All they have to do is just to pretend that
