Wednesday, September 8th, 2021. I'm John Saucier. Nobody likes being stuck at the airport, but it's especially troubling for a group of people who are stuck trying to get out of Afghanistan right now.

But is it the Taliban blocking them or red tape from the American government.

These are not commercial flights, they're charter flights, a number of planes that are

waiting on the runway in Missouri at the airport there to take off and we have mixed reports about why they can't take off.

This is the Fox News rundown.

Evening Edition. The U.S. military spent a chaotic and deadly couple weeks wrapping up their mission in Afghanistan

which included flying thousands of American citizens and Afghans out before an August 31st deadline.

Since then, the Taliban now firmly in control of both the country and its airports.

American groups are now there in place of the military continuing to try and get people out but they're running into problems.
