President Trump and his Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have wasted no time sending U.S. military assets to the South Caribbean very near to the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia, where they spent some weeks targeting and destroying what they call drug boats, vessels operated by alleged drug traffickers designed to evade detection and transport illicit narcotics to the U.S.

Nearly 80 people are believed to have been killed so far. The president claims Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has been behind many of the drug cartels sending deadly drugs to the U.S.

And now President Trump is sending some formidable military hardware like the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford to the Caribbean.

And that comes after some open discussion that CIA can be authorized to operate on the ground in Venezuela.
