Monday, May 15th, 2023. I'm John Saasie. The immigration issue goes far beyond our southern border right now.

The crisis is possibly most evident in our largest city, New York. Tens of thousands of

migrants have bus north of the Big Apple. And that's putting an extreme strain on the city's

resources people and taxpayers. Sort of realizing, hold on a second, we've had

60,000 migrants in New York City. And right now, over 40,000 are in the city's care and

look at how much chaos that has caused. And then you think about all the migrants that are

crossing the southern border every single day. This is the Fox News rundown, Evening Edition.

When you look up the Google Maps description of the Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown, Manhattan,

it reads, Landmark Art Deco Hotel offering elegant rooms and sweets plus dining,

a ballroom and rooftop lounge. Pretty swanky digs for anyone traveling to New York,

and especially so for immigrants and asylum seekers. The city is getting ready to open rooms

in this posh establishment as temporary shelter for the thousands of people showing up from other

countries. New York is scrambling to find places to put these people, but more and more of them

have been showing up. Now the tension between NYC and the White House is openly showing.

It's been closed for about three years at this point, right?

We're speaking today with Fox News correspondent Nate Foy. He's outside the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.

Ben out there all day. There's not much action, but the city says this week they're going to be opening

175 rooms for migrant families. That's been a priority of Mayor Eric Adams administration.
