Summary

Dateline, with the help of the great Andrea Canning, is taking us to church this week! Actually they do every week, because Dateline is kind of a religion, but this week's case revolves around an actual church and a few of the folks who worship there in sweet home Alabama! Kimberly and Katie are discussing salted and seasoned secrets in a religious community, the detailed schematics of making love in an exterminator van, and the fun of saying "Piggy Wiggly"! And again, Dateline presents us with a thought provoking question of the ages: Are you maybe a murderer and/or a psychopath if you wait to eat your fries until you get home from the fast food drive through? Grab your holy water (or diet coke or whatever is handy) and get ready to fight evil, because not only did the devil go down to Geor— er, Alabama, EVEN THE DEVIL WENT TO CHURCH!

Official Description from NBCU: In Morris, Alabama, faith is a way of life. But when a man is murdered, rumors involving a pastor begin to swirl and the truth ends up turning the community upside down. Andrea Canning reports.

Hi everyone, this is Kimberly and this is Katie and you're listening to a date with

0:04.6

date line. But first we're going to tell you about our secondary podcast, a date with

0:08.8

the bake. It's about great British Bake Off and if you're thinking to yourself, I don't

0:14.0

watch that show. I don't like British people. I'm not over the Revolutionary War. It

0:19.8

doesn't matter. Red coats. You should check it out. Here's a little sneak peek.

0:27.3

If someone sent you a bread plaque in the mail, would you hang it on your wall or is that

0:31.4

narcissistic? I mean, here's a thing. Yes. I'm like Kimberly. Hang it up. No, I'd

0:40.1

eat it. No, you can't. It's a plaque. It's lacquered. Oh, sorry. It's not for eating.

0:44.2

Yeah, I would definitely put it up, but not I would put up in the bathroom. You have to

0:49.3

hang it in the kitchen where the food is. It's a bread plaque. You cannot hang that in

0:53.0

the bathroom. That's gross, gross. So forever uncle. Do you want to see bread in your

0:57.4

bathroom? I feel like that's the last place you want to see bread. It's lacquered. It

1:01.1

might not look as much like bread anymore. I feel like it looks a lot like bread. I

1:06.2

wasn't thinking about the fact it was bread. I was trying to think of where the least

1:09.2

pretentious place to put something of my face would be. Correct. The bathroom is what

1:14.8

I came up with. Not like in a hallway where the light's not great. I don't have a big

1:20.0

apartment. So it's all the same. If you're living in a couple places where do you

1:24.3

have bread plaque? A side hallway that is behind a hidden panel. In your car in the back

1:31.6

window, people can see it while you're driving and getting an accident because they're

1:35.0

trying to see what it is all the time. What is that? It's a bread ghost. Oh, also that

1:43.3

guy is not just some guy who walked in off the street. That's Jake. He is our third

1:47.9

co-host on a date with the bake. But an amazing idea for another show we could do.
