point look at culture from a Christian worldview. I'm John Stone Street with the point. The popular trend among young Christians to so-called

deconstruct their faith is encouraged when an influential Christian author

musician or other public figure announces online that they're leaving the faith.

So-called ex- evangelical influencers bashing their evangelical upbringing is quite a popular

theme on social media.

Recently, however, Andrew Walker of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,

tweeted a request from a friend, quote, would love to read a memoir that goes something like this.

I grew up Evangelical, was made to listen to Adventures in Odyssey, forced to go to Wheaton, was taught abstinence, all my parents

put up a Bush Cheney sign, and I'm fine.

Well since posting, Walker's tweet has garnered over a million views, with countless

replies from young people shared how they were homeschooled and listened to

adventures in Odyssey went to Awana and are still doing okay. Walker observed, quote,

it's pretty fun to see people have the permission structure to not criticize or be embarrassed by their upbringing and even

gasp celebrate it.
