the definitive tome on the cultural impact of his one true love, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Hi how are you?

I'm going to do that thing I hate when people do on podcasts by saying thank you for that

lovely intro, but thank you for that lovely intro.

Now before we jump in, I need to say I read the entire book into every generation a slayer

is born.

And I was immediately struck by the unique structure of how it's written.

Like it's part memoir on your part, how Buffy changed your life, part interviews with

cast members, part oral history, like how did you actually pitch this?

It's interesting you say that because I didn't really have the structure so much in mind

at the outset.

I knew that I wanted to begin the book with like my entry point into the series, but I think

one of the questions that I grappled with throughout the process was like how much

of myself to bring into the book because on the one hand, I didn't want the book to

be all about me, but on the other hand, I feel like my story of how I found this show

and the reason why I love it so much today has a universality to it.

So I felt like bringing me in was a way to sort of bring the reader in to the show versus
