And today we got Evan Neal and Andrew Phillips.

I got to wait for a regular show for us to talk about you being in Charlotte for the first time.

This is actually my first episode of this Airbnb, which, you know, probably not going to be a ton more of those. But we've got to save this for another time. We're going to start with Evan Neal. 6'7, 340 pounds, 25 years old, was the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. His fifth year option was declined this

offseason. He's in the last year of his deal. He's been a major disappointment being

injured and bad, but now Grump, he moves to guard. I mean, it's no secret. The B word has been

thrown around with Evan Neal for a little while now, but I think entering your fourth year and having to move positions, not because you're better at a different spot, because you're just flat out not good at the position that you were drafted to play.

I mean, throwing the word bust in there is a plausible and acceptable kind of situation, but the Giants are going to try and salvage as much as they can out of him, especially since you consider the last year that the fourth year of your rookie deal is fully guaranteed.

It doesn't really make a ton of sense to move on from someone where you're going to be spending $8 million, whether they're here or not.

Yeah. It's a it's a last-ditch effort for Neil.

And in these episodes, really don't try to pay attention to training camp or

preseason games.

For the late round rookies, you may do a little more for that, and that's why I try and

put those guys in the, you know, the back half of the the schedule but with neil i do feel like you have to i or not don't have to but like i am going to use some of that stuff because at guard it's a whole new thing and i don't think going back and looking at him at you know his one year playing guard alabama uh his freshman year as this know, evidence of what we're going to see from there.

Because, hell, his tackle play film is good at Alabama, even though there's red flags that some,

including myself, ignore.

But with Neil at guard, there's going to be a comparison to Eric Flowers, and there's, Eric Flowers was certainly bad.

I think he lacks the movement skills and balance with his size, which makes him lose the leverage battle,

that will always stop him from being an above average guard.

But I think he can possibly last in the NFL as a fringe starter backup

because when he's in a phone booth, he handles himself well at that guard spot, I believe.
