You are a master Somalié, and there's only 149 of those in the U.S.

So what exactly is one, and how do you become one?

That's the $64,000 question.

They're not that many of us.

And this program, which is now 30 years old in the United States, has been basically an effort in, quote, unquote, getting one's masters in wine and beverage for folks who generally work in dining rooms across American restaurants

introductory level, a certified sommelier examination, an advanced level sommelier course and

examination, and then the penultimate master sommelier certification.
