Here's the thing about Pete.

And as you said, his numbers have been steadily declining. And last year, not only did he not even hit 90 RBI, hitting behind an MVP candidate,

but by playing 162 games, by the way, his strikeout rate is over 170 strikeouts last year.

And I think Sterns looks at him and says he's a losing

player. If you put him in the fourth hole in the four hole in your lineup and you're going to

watch him stand there with the bat on his shoulders watching strike three and then swinging

at all four 175 times, he's going to kill rallies. He's actually a net negative. And if you get him as a

role play, and you want to drop to six or seven holes, something like that, where he can do a

little less damage by striking out that much. But there's no reason. Like, you live in a

fantasy land where Aaron Rogers is going to get better at 42 years old next year. And how Pete Alonzo, who's been declining every year for three years, is suddenly going to get better next year.

It's magical.
