Well, I don't think it's ever fun to finish and last, so to get out of last would be nice.

But we've had, you know, we've had a tough season to where even if that happens, we know we're going to be disappointed.

So unless this team is really going to the playoffs, I think anything else is a disappointment.

So whether it's last, third, fourth, or fifth, whatever it is, it's a

disappointment. It's Red Sox manager Ron Renneke, speaking before tonight's game against

a Baltimore Orioles over at Fenway Park. Red Sox will play three games against the Orioles and then

go to Atlanta for three games. And then that is it. Mercifully, they will pull the plug on this 2020 season, and that'll be the end of it.

But as you heard Renicke say there, when you're the Red Sox, it doesn't really matter whether you finish last or finish third.

It's about making the playoffs, chasing championships, et cetera.

Nonetheless, four last place finishes for John Henry's Red Sox and four World

Series. Four last place finishes. Will this be five, Jimmy Stewart, or will this be four?

There was 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, maybe? Did they finish last again? I don't think they did.
