Todd is out this week on vacay, and in his place. Once again, we have the lovely Corrine.

Hello. Today we have a brief and kind of funny story. This story was written in the book of Acts

chapter 20 and Acts is written by Luke, the physician. And he also wrote what other book?

Luke. And he wrote the gospel, and now he's continuing.

This is like the second part, and when you read the beginning of Acts,

Luke treats this as two parts to one whole story.

The first section in the gospel was the telling of Jesus in his earthly ministry.

The second section in the book of Acts is the beginning of the

church and the coming of the Holy Spirit. And it's so exciting. And 20 chapters into that book, Luke

records some actions of the Apostle Paul. And we know that he's kind of a character. In this story,

we see some interesting insights to, I think, the mind of a preacher and Paul in particular.

So it was a Sunday evening and the first century church was happening, Corrine.

This is the first instance that we see in the scriptures of a church service being held on a Sunday.

So a little interesting tidbit.

Our story takes place in a city known as Troas or Alexandria, Troas, an Asia Minor.

And it's about 20 miles away from the famous city Troy.

And Troy was made famous by the movie Troy.
