All right, welcome back to another episode of Eurotrack where I'm joined by co-host Katie Shide.

0:05.0

In this episode, we are previewing the 126K race at Trans Grand Canaria, which I am very, very excited about.

0:13.1

The more I research and talk to people and generally get a sense of what it's all about and where it fits into the scene.

0:19.2

It's just so cool.

0:20.2

And Katie, you are actually

0:22.5

over there right now, I believe, getting ready to race the VK. What are your initial impressions of

0:29.0

the environment and the vibes pre-race pre-festable? Yeah, well, it's good to see you again, Finn,

0:39.3

even though I'm in a different place than normal. But yeah, it's fun to be actually on site here for this, although I wish we could

0:44.8

visited. This is my first time on Grand Canaria. Yeah. But a little less vegetated than

and there's a lot more vegetation there.

1:11.6

Although I've only been in one part of the island so far and I've been told that

1:15.6

there are more trees and vegetation in other areas.

1:19.6

So first impression, classic, great Spanish welcome, everyone's happy, their sun, it's warm.

1:26.6

I think everyone's just kind of happy to be outside in T-shirts and shorts and kind of relaxing a bit.

1:33.1

It's really interesting the timing of the year for this race. I've heard secondhand from people like Nuria Picos who says that Transgrant Canaria is this huge race for Spanish

1:46.2

ultra runners. And I think generally it is a big race on the European calendar in general. But

1:50.7

then you run into this sort of conundrum where if you are a two-sport athlete, if you are a

1:56.6

skier, if you have a schemo season, this is just an awkward time of the year to train if you can train it all specifically.

2:03.5

Is that sort of the vibe you get as well?
